Compliance Consulting

Advice on how a design meets the National Construction Code — before it is lodged, while it is being resolved, or when something has gone wrong. Engaged as a standalone service or alongside certification.

SANT
Compliance Consulting

What it is

Independent Code advice from registered certifiers. We review a design, tell you where it complies, where it does not, and what the realistic options are — early enough that the answer still influences the drawings.

Deemed-to-Satisfy assessment

A structured review against the Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions, returned as a written assessment listing each non-compliance and the provision it relates to. Most clients use this before lodgement, so issues are known and addressed by their design team well before the consent stage.

Performance solutions

Where Deemed-to-Satisfy compliance is impractical, a Performance Solution demonstrates compliance against the Performance Requirements instead. We assess and review Performance Solutions prepared by fire engineers, access consultants and other specialists. We do not prepare a Performance Solution for a project we are certifying — the assessing certifier and the author have to be separate.

Fire, egress and access

Fire separation and resistance, exit travel distances and provision, and access for people with disability under the Code and the Premises Standards — the three areas that most often drive late-stage redesign.

Unapproved and non-compliant work

In South Australia we can assess existing unapproved or non-compliant work and advise on the regularisation pathway. In the Northern Territory this is not available — there is no avenue to certify work that was built without a permit.

Common questions

Can you advise before we lodge?

That is the best time to engage us. Pre-lodgement advice is cheaper than redesign and far cheaper than rework on site.

Do you assess performance solutions prepared by others?

Yes. We review and assess performance solutions prepared by fire engineers and access consultants as part of the certification process or as a standalone review.
